Darlene-Marie Slagle (Darlene) provides her unique skill in concept-editing perception in the areas of humanities, religion, social science and spirituality — and general editing and proofreading for all areas, including technical articles and publications for industry.

What does this actually mean? Concept-editing perception involves concept clarification. Darlene will ask you questions about your text and she will work single-mindedly to fully understand your goal. Moreover. she will present you with more than one suggestion for improving and fine tuning your point. Darlene’s goal is to put forth suggestions that an author adopts, using his or her original idea with no change to initial intent. Many non-native English speakers have taken advantage of this assistance to give their work the edge they need–especially around “tightness” and flow.

Many non-native English speakers will hesitate to speak boldly enough about an idea. Darlene guides the author in showcasing original ideas in accord with American English usage. Be sure and take advantage of the links on the Resource tab to assist you with your project.

In some cases, the author is so deeply submerged in the material that the text is difficult for a reader to penetrate. Clearing away any confusion is the key to success in these cases. You can discuss this point and many others with Darlene, including:

• Are you having trouble consolidating ideas?
• Do you run into problems with sentence structure, tense and punctuation? (Very common when text is translated into English but is easy to correct!)
• Do you need help summarizing key points?
• Who’s the audience and why does this matter?

Note: Questions that are asked and answered in the author/editor partnership produce a successful outcome.

What you will receive:
